Fahim Qureshi

Chair

An highly experienced Arts professional and Creative Producer who has worked within the sector for many years including for five different local authorities ( Ipswich, Hackney, Watford , Luton and Richmond Upon Thames).   
Over the years he has produced a number of high profile festivals ,large scale outdoor events, carnivals, melas and managed year round venues programmes and co-ordinated & curated town centre public realm art interventions.

Yasmin Khan

Board Member

 A writer, presenter, arts producer, community/ youthworker, social activist and promoter of emerging qawwali talent from Pakistan, Yasmin’s selection of work includes a dozen produced plays including the critically acclaimed  and translated/performed around the world – ‘Bells’; a guest columnist for the Mail on Sunday; co-presenting, researching, and scripting a series for Anglia TV; and a champion for youth in communities who have little access to service providers.

Harmage S. Kalirai

Board Member

A performer, film / theatre director and producer, Harmage trained at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama , Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, and at the Ladislav Fialka Mime School in Prague. His work includes the short film The House of Sasha,  and the Raindance Award nominated, Chicken Tikka Masala; as performer - Behsharam (Soho Theatre/Birmingham Rep); Hijra (West Yorkshire Playhouse); Arabian Nights (Young Vic); Riddley Walker, The Moonstone (Royal Exchange, Manchester).

Jonathan Mayer

Artistic Director

A renowned sitarist and composer, who has composed extensively for many genres including jazz, Indian, dance & symphonic writing, Jonaathan is the son of the late Kolkata composer who began his musical training at just 5 years old, learning violin from his grandfather Albert Hepton, piano from James Methuen-Campbell and composition from his father, and later mastered the sitar. His ability to read Western notation has allowed him to perform in a variety of genres – playing with artists such as The London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and The Orlando Consort, among other notable names. Before becoming AD, Jonathan composed two pioneering sitar concertos for zeroclassial – Perseverance (2015 and Altered Boundaries (2018) both which toured extensively. In 2021 his Sitar Concerto No.2 and Pranam were released on First Hand Records, recorded with The BBC National Orchestra of Wales and received glowing reviews worldwide.



 

Hardial S. Rai

Exec Director (CEO)

Involved in the diverse arts sector in the UK for almost four decades, developing, innovating and pioneering arts activity as producer, director, writer, dramaturg, but mainly someone who has worked with artists to make their thing happen and hopefully get someone to see it. Equally, he has reached out to audiences in a strategic way to get them to see beyond what they want to see. From commissioning and producing large scale outdoor spectacles like Macbeth: Stage of Blood on the River Thames for LIFT (1997) “the most spectacular spectacle this year” (The Guardian), to ground-breaking productions such as Dogs of Desire in an underground car park to developing and leading the highly acclaimed pioneering Asian comedy strand– One Nation (from 1985 -99), Most recently he has produced national & international (incl Edinburgh Fringe) tours for Amina Khayyam Dance Company (2013-18) In total, Hardial has delivered over 175 projects of all scales.

Dharna

Event & Media Manager

Dharna is a London-based digital marketer, with a Masters’ in International Journalism from Brunel University in London and an undergraduate degree from the prestigious Delhi University in India. In the professional realm, Dharna thrives in the dynamic realm of digital marketing, content creation and events, and has been working closely with zerOclassikal as well as Amina Khayyam Dance Company, with previous gigs in the media industry at The Hillingdon Herald, Wipro DOP and Inshorts. Other than crafting compelling content and learning more about the media landscape through her work, she continues to pursue a comprehensive range of skills through The National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).
