November 10th - Arani Sivapathasuntharam and Kitha Nadarajah

The Calder Bookshop Theatre and zerOclassikal present:

An intimate double bill of South Indian classical music presented by two gifted emerging British artists - Arani Sivapathasuntharam on Veena and Kitha Nadarajah on Violin.
Kitha Nadarajah is a talented Carnatic Violinist and was recently runner up in the Sangeet Ratna Awards. She has performed all over the UK and internationally in India, Singapore, Paris and Barcelona to name some countries. She was a member of the national ensemble Tarang and was Orchestra Leader of SAMYO (South Asian Music Youth Orchestra) for whom she has toured all across England in many prestigious venues.

Arani Sivapathasundaram is a prolific Veena player and emerging artist within London. Her training at the Bhavan under Smt. Sivasakthi Sivanesan has enabled her to bring her own style to this ancient and traditional instrument and she performs regularly across the UK undertaking workshops to spread awareness of the music. She was also member of the national ensemble Tarang and National Youth Orchestra, SAMYO.'

Both artists will be accompanied by Janakan Srirangan on Miruthangam
