Two new commissions come together for their premiere performance at the Sage Gateshead in Newcastle.

In An Inner Voice, two talented vocalists, Yarlinie & Kobini come together to create an innovative piece experimenting with a notion rarely used within Carnatic music – harmonies. This unique and progressive Carnatic piece, influenced by their own personal journeys reflects new ideas within improvisations, harmonies and raga structure.

In Routes, the versatile guitarist Giuliano Modarelli uses the notion of the drone to incorporate sounds of Dub and spiritual Jazz to Indian Classical music. Focusing on sounds, production and grooves, this new approach creates a unique timbre to this classical tradition.
